In the run-up to COP26, we face a new onslaught of mainstream media coverage of how this conference will decide the fate of humanity. The truth is that even the best outcome being sought by policymakers is far short of what the science tells us is needed to stabilise the global climate.

It is incredibly disheartening Prof. Anderson still thinks the political and expert “classes” must lead. Sure, he’s saying we need a wider range of thinking involved and so “invites in” we mere mortals, but what he fails to grasp is two-fold: The “experts” hosted the ride down this slope into chaos, so why would we follow them out? Indeed, Kevin and his tribe of pocket protector wielders, as well as the political and economic “leaders” must become followers and enablers. That is, we know what to do. Some have always known. Kevin, et al., don’t know what to do. Where the power structures of the fast-fading current/past era can, and must, do, is listen to what we tell you and facilitate our doing of it by leveraging what is left of the present to build a better future where there is nothing but… everything.
We should do a discussion of the Regenerative Governance model which would facilitate reintegrating with Nature while effectively managing how we interact with the planet to heal her, and is.
Never ceases to amaze me that Kevin A is able to put the same messages over, year after year, in a way that still feels fresh, without any hint of frustration on his part.
